Representative Engagements
Insurance Operations and Systems Integration (Corporate Acquisition or Spin-off)
Led the business integration of operations and systems for insurance annuity and mutual fund organizations from a USD $1.1 billion corporate acquisition for a large insurance company. The integration effort included individual variable annuities and annuity operations, mutual funds and transfer agency operations and their respective distribution channels.
Business Process Management
Performed a fact-based, objective assessment of new business procedures, including 1035 exchange procedures, to optimize both customer benefits and servicing economics for existing and new life insurance products. We worked with senior management to modify new business procedures and articulate the corporate direction to wholesale distribution channels.
IT Governance and Finance for Insurance Companies
Performed internal assessments and evaluations on enterprise-level IT spends on core systems and projects. We worked with senior management to develop and rollout new IT governance processes, including corporate-wide CBA process management and tools.
Insurance Product Project Management
Project management for the development of new insurance investment products for life insurance companies. Worked with a large constituent team of senior management to design and develop new annuity products for individual and group lines of business, insurance fixed accounts, stable value products and mutual funds.
P&C Agency Systems
Designed and developed a system for property and casualty agency automation, including the conversion of policy data from legacy systems and the implementation of ACORD interfaces.
Insurance Investment Management and Accounting
Performed the search, selection and implementation of insurance investment accounting systems for GAAP, Statutory, and Tax accounting bases, and Schedule D reporting for insurance companies. Experienced with derivative (hedging) systems, performance measurement systems (AIMR), and business intelligence reporting platforms.
Start-up of an International Insurance Company
Planned and coordinated the successful establishment of a start-up (not acquired) Ireland-based insurance company to market retail retirement savings products in the U.K.
Project Launch and CBA
Performed the project launch and CBA for the rewrite of an enterprise-wide back-office system (legacy mainframe application) for a life insurance company.
Liability and Risk Modeling Software Implementations
Assessments and implementations of liability and risk modeling software packages that also includes performing technical evaluations, profiling, proof-of-concepts, and high-performance tuning.
