Representative Engagements
Trade Order Management System Selection and Implementation
Led the search, selection and implementation of an industry-leading trade order management and compliance system for a USD $100 billion institutional investment management firm. Successfully implemented the system across all sectors and trading desks within 8 months and included the first production implementation of settlement communications from the trading system. Trading desks included Equity, Money Market, Corporate, High-yield Corporate, Government, ABS, MBS, CMBS, CDOs, Private Placements, International and Emerging Markets.
Derivatives Processing and Accounting Implementations
Performed reviews and assessments of vendor derivative systems. Led the implementation of derivatives processing and accounting that included Futures, Options, Swaps and FX related derivatives. Developed and executed the implementation of core system functionality and the specification and build-out of new functionality with the vendor. Managed all aspects of requirements and design specifications, system builds and testing, and the financial and process controls for production implementation from trading to back-office accounting and reporting.
Performance Measurement and Composite Reporting Systems
Completed implementations of vendor performance measurement systems for fixed income investment management firms. Also performed the project rescue of an initiative to develop a new performance measurement and composite reporting system.
Selection and Implementations of Portfolio Management and Accounting Systems
Performed the search, selection of portfolio management and accounting systems for banks, mutual funds, insurance companies and investment management firms. Experienced with implementing data hub and reporting warehouses, business intelligence reporting platforms and vendor investment accounting systems for all assets types and accounting methods, including GAAP, Statutory and Tax.
Investment Product Project Management
Project management for the development of new investment products for fixed income firms and insurance companies. Product project management experiences included the development of new mutual funds, stable value investments, insurance fixed accounts, and structured finance products.
Start-up of an International Investment Management Firm
Planned, coordinated and executed the tasks to establish (not acquire) an investment management firm in the Far East to develop a physical presence (real estate, staffing, systems, etc.) and become registered as an investment advisor for the discretionary investment management of new retail investment products.
TBA and Dollar Roll Trading and Accounting Implementations
Performed internal assessments and needs analysis for TBA and Dollar Roll requirements across the firm from front-office trading, settlements with MBSS/EPN and back-office accounting and performance measurement. Led the implementation of TBA and Dollar Roll functionality using vendor investment accounting systems.
